Exploring the panel

Your panel is a full installation of Pterodactyl, the open-source game server management software. Here are its screens, in the order you will come across them. The Pterodactyl interface is in English: button names are given as they appear.

Logging in

Open https://your-name.nebus.app and log in with the username and initial password shown in the client area (see Logging in to your panel).

Pterodactyl panel login page: Username or Email and Password fields, Login button
The login page. Forgot password? sends a reset link to the account's address.

The server list

This is the home page. Each row is a server, with the address to give your players and what it uses (CPU, memory, disk) compared to its limits. The coloured bar on the right shows its state: green running, yellow starting, red stopped.

List of two servers, Site vitrine (Node.js) and Bot Discord (Python), with their address and usage
Two running servers. As an administrator, the Showing your servers switch also shows other accounts' servers.

The icons at the top right: search, server list, administration (cogs, for administrators), your account, log out.

Managing a server

Click a server to open its interface. The tabs at the top group everything you need day to day:

TabWhat for
ConsoleStart, restart, stop, follow the logs live and type commands.
FilesBrowse, upload, edit and compress the server's files.
DatabasesCreate MySQL databases for the server.
SchedulesSchedule tasks: restart, command, backup.
UsersGive other people access to the server.
BackupsCreate, download and restore backups.
NetworkSee and manage the server's ports.
StartupStartup command, version (Docker image) and egg settings.
SettingsSFTP access, server name, reinstall.

Console

Console of a Node.js server: startup log, Start, Restart and Stop buttons, address, uptime, CPU, memory and disk
The console of a Node.js app that has just started. On the right: the server address and its live usage.

The Start, Restart and Stop buttons control the server. The field at the bottom of the console sends a command to the program (for example say Hello on Minecraft).

Files

File manager with the Create Directory, Upload and New File buttons
The file manager. The … menu on each row lets you rename, move, compress, download or delete.
The panel's text editor open on index.js, with syntax highlighting and the Save Content button
Clicking a text file opens it in the editor. Remember to Save Content.

For large uploads, use SFTP: see Files and SFTP.

Databases

Databases tab with a database s1_site, its address, its user and the New Database button
A database created in one click. The eye shows the password; the address can only be reached by your servers.

The number of databases allowed is set per server in the administration (Database Limit). Details and phpMyAdmin: Databases.

Schedules

Schedules tab with a task Redémarrage nocturne (nightly restart) set for 5 am
A restart every night at 5 am. Times are Paris time.

Create schedule, choose the frequency (minute, hour, day…), then add one or more tasks: send a command, a power action (restart…) or create a backup.

Server users

Users tab with no subuser and the New User button
Add a friend or a moderator with New User and choose their permissions precisely.

See Users and access.

Backups

Backups tab with a backup named Avant mise à jour and the Create Backup button
A manual backup. The maximum number is set per server in the administration (Backup Limit).

Backups are stored on your disk: see Backups.

Network

Network tab: address gra1.nebus.app, port 30000, marked Primary
The server's main port and its address. The Notes field is your reminder.

With the shared address, ports are chosen among the 100 reserved for you; with the dedicated IP option, you can add any. See Ports and connection.

Startup

Startup tab: startup command, Docker image Nodejs 22 and the variables Main file, Auto Update, Git Repo Address
The startup command (read-only), the version (Docker Image) and the egg settings, which the server owner can change.

Settings

Settings tab: SFTP address and username, server name, reinstall
The SFTP address and username (the password is the panel's), the server name and reinstalling.

Reinstall Server runs the egg installation again: depending on the egg, files may be replaced. Make a backup first.

Your account

Account page: changing the password and the e-mail address, enabling two-step verification
Click your avatar at the top right: password, e-mail, two-step verification, API keys and SSH keys.

Turn on two-step verification (Enable Two-Step) as soon as you first log in.

The administration

The cogs at the top right open the Pterodactyl administration, for administrator accounts only.

Creating a server

Create Server form: name, owner, Nebus node, default port, limits and resources
Servers → Create New: name, owner, port, then memory, disk and CPU.
Rest of the form: Generic nest, Node.js generic egg, Docker image and egg variables
At the bottom of the form: the nest and the egg (here Generic → Node.js generic), the version and the egg settings.

Every field is explained in Creating a server.

Nests and eggs

List of nests: Minecraft, Source Engine, Voice Servers, Rust and Generic
The nests provided: Pterodactyl's own, plus Generic added by Nebus.

An egg is a server template (how to install and run it); a nest groups eggs. Your panel comes with:

  • Minecraft: Paper, Vanilla, Forge, Sponge, BungeeCord (see Minecraft);
  • Source Engine: Garry's Mod, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Insurgency, ARK…;
  • Voice Servers: Mumble, TeamSpeak 3; Rust;
  • Generic: Node.js generic and Python generic, for your bots and apps (see Node.js and Python bots and apps).
Generic nest containing the Node.js generic and Python generic eggs
The Generic nest. The download button exports an egg; Import Egg (previous page) adds one.

For another game, import its egg (JSON file) with Import Egg: the community maintains hundreds of them.

The Nebus node

Settings of the Nebus node with the Nebus-managed banner and the locked fields
The node that runs your servers. The banner reminds you what is locked.

Its address, ports and resources (memory, disk) match your plan exactly: they are locked and automatically follow a plan change. You can change its name and description. See Resources and limits.

Over-allocation, on the other hand, is free (Overallocate set by Nebus to 100000%): your servers may get more than your plan in total, see Over-allocating in your panel.

Accounts

List of the panel accounts in the administration
Users: every account of the panel. Create New adds one.

Next step: create your first server.
